Job Title: Office Assistant

Overview: As an Office Assistant at Revitalize Metabolic Health, you will play a crucial role in
providing personalized and patient-centered healthcare. You will be a key member of our team, assisting in both medical and administrative tasks. We are looking for someone who is dedicated
and detail-oriented to contribute to the unique and proactive approach of our Direct Primary Care
(DPC) model.

Responsibilities

Patient Care:

o Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a nurse/physician. Greet and assist
patients in a friendly and professional manner.
o Take and record medical history according to the premise of the visit.
o Obtain vital signs as appropriate
o Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, as needed.
o Provide patient education and support.

Patient Engagement:

o Foster strong patient relationships through personalized and compassionate interactions.
o Educate patients on the principles and benefits of DPC.
o Explain processes and assist patients with enrollment in the DPC membership model.
o Clearly communicate the benefits, costs, and payment options associated with
membership fees.

Medical Assistance:

o Assist with medical examinations and procedures, as needed.
o Prepare, dispense, and administer medications as directed by physicians.
o Assist in delivering comprehensive and individualized care.
o Collect specimens for routine laboratory tests. Phlebotomy certification is a plus.
o Assist with medication dispensing, ensuring accurate labeling and billing.

Administrative Tasks:

o Schedule and manage appointments, ensuring timely patient flow and unhurried
appointments for quality patient care.
o Ensure patient documents are completed at initial visit.
o Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
o Manage phone calls and inquiries, providing information as needed.
o Coordinate referrals for procedures, imaging studies, and consults. Obtain prior
authorizations as needed.
o Manage incoming and outgoing fax communications.
o Other duties as assigned.

Health and Wellness Promotion:

o Support health promotion initiatives, including preventive care and wellness programs.
o Live out our mission in terms of health, wellness, and personal well-being, demonstrating
the principles that the clinic advocates.
o Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement personalized care plans for our
patients.

Patient-Centered Approach:

o Assist patients in navigating the healthcare system, advocating on their behalf.
o Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow-up on treatment plans.
o Demonstrate a patient-centered mindset, prioritizing the well-being and satisfaction of
patients.
o Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all individuals seeking care.
o Understand and respect individual differences in healthcare beliefs and practices.
Technology Integration:
o Utilize electronic health record (EHR) and other systems efficiently for seamless
documentation.
o Maintain professionalism in digital communication with patients.
o Learn new systems as needed.

Office Organization:

o Maintain cleanliness and organization of medical examination rooms and common areas,
including limited housekeeping and custodial duties.
o Manage inventory of supplies and medications.

Marketing and Community Events:

o Participate in marketing and community events.
o Assist in exploring new opportunities for business growth, patient acquisition, and
networking.
o Maintain a professional demeanor while representing Revitalize Metabolic Health in the
community and at events.

Communication and Problem Solving:

o Communicate clearly and effectively with patients, physicians, and other staff.
o Display active listening skills and respond empathetically to patient concerns.
o Relay messages accurately and promptly.
o Contribute positively to team dynamics and support a collaborative work environment.
o Exhibit strong problem-solving skills when addressing patient concerns, billing inquiries,
or unexpected challenges.

o Communicate any planned unavailability well in advance to facilitate proper scheduling
adjustments.

Qualifications and Experience:

o Knowledge of DPC principles and philosophy
o Completion of a recognized Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Licensed Practical
Nurse (LPN) program
o Current CMA or LPN Certification
o CPR Certification
o Previous experience in a DPC practice, medical office setting, or similar model
o Proficient in medical terminology
o Strong organizational skills
o Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to learn new computer programs
and software quickly and efficiently
