Welcome to Dr. Ashley Girdler

We are beyond excited to announce that Ashley Girdler, DO is joining the practice!

She will be starting in the clinic on February 10 and will start with Meet & Greet visits for enrollment in her Direct Primary Care (DPC) practice.

One of my existing patients clued her in to my practice back in March, and Ashley approached me eager to hear about how I’ve implemented DPC.  She learned that “Direct primary care brings the doctor-patient relationship back to the way it should be. I can practice medicine in a way that aligns with my morals and ethics; allowing me to provide the care that I feel is best for each individual without the oversight of administration or insurance companies limiting options and delaying care.”

She is someone who values the genuine patient-physician relationship and recognized that the traditional fee-for-service model of health care was not allowing her to practice the way she wanted to.

Now, she will “have the time to do what is so incredibly important in healing; time to listen . . . to not feel rushed and have the freedom to explore a patient’s symptoms in depth will give us the opportunity to discover diagnoses, educate so patients can be empowered to be in control of their own well-being.”

Dr. Ashley Girdler is board-certified in Family Medicine, and she recently took the Obesity Medicine board exam.  The Pacific Northwest is home, and providing care to patients in the Pacific Northwest is a priority to her.  She completed her undergraduate degree at Gonzaga University, medical school at Pacific Northwest University, then moved back to Western Washington to complete residency training in Puyallup, Washington.
She has been practicing
as an outpatient Family Medicine physician in Gig Harbor since 2017. Throughout the years of practicing medicine she has come to appreciate the importance of preventive medicine, healthful diet, exercise, quality sleep, and mood stability in a patient’s functioning and quality of life. She practices a holistic approach to medicine; understanding that the mind, body and spirit all contribute to health. She partners with her patients to develop a level of trust and mutual understanding in order to help them achieve optimal health.
Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 children.  Some of her many interests include: playing and watching sports of all kinds (Go Kraken!), camping, paddle boarding, skiing, biking, exercising, and reading.

Ashley has taken great pride in her service to the Gig Harbor community, even within the constraints of the insurance-based model.  Starting in February, she will be able to spread her proverbial wings to make an even greater impact on health care for the region, helping to advance the increasingly popular direct care model — the future of health care.

Please welcome me in inviting Ashley to Revitalize Metabolic Health, and please spread the word about her new role.
